Arbitration and Conciliation Act Section 43F — Resignation of Members
CHAPTER X — Miscellaneous
Civil
Summary
The Chairperson, or any Full-time or Part-time Member, may resign from their position by sending a written notice, signed by their own hand, to the Central Government.
However, a Chairperson or Full-time Member who resigns must keep serving until the earliest of these three events: three months pass from the date the government receives the resignation notice, a properly appointed successor takes over the office, or the person's original term of office ends. This continues unless the Central Government allows the person to leave the office sooner.
Official Text

Provided that the Chairperson or the Full-time Member shall, unless he is permitted by the Central Government to relinquish his office sooner, continue to hold office until the expiry of three months from the date of receipt of such notice or until a person duly appointed as his successor enters upon his office or until the expiry of his term of office, whichever is earlier.
