Summary

Whoever assaults someone, or uses criminal force against someone, while trying to wrongfully confine that person, commits an offence under this section. The punishment for this offence is imprisonment of either kind for up to one year, or a fine of up to five thousand rupees, or both.

Official Text

Whoever assaults or uses criminal force to any person, in attempting wrongfully to confine that person, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to one year, or with fine which may extend to five thousand rupees, or with both.
