Summary
Whoever, intending to induce or compel the President of India or the Governor of any State to exercise or refrain from exercising any of their lawful powers in any manner, assaults or wrongfully restrains that President or Governor, or attempts to wrongfully restrain them, or overawes them by means of criminal force or the show of criminal force, or attempts to overawe them in that way, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term up to seven years, and shall also be liable to fine.
