Summary

An Additional Sessions Judge handles cases that the Sessions Judge of that division assigns to them, either through a general rule or a specific order. The High Court can also directly order an Additional Sessions Judge to try a particular case.

Official Text

An Additional Sessions Judge shall try such cases as the Sessions Judge of the division may, by general or special order, make over to him for trial or as the High Court may, by special order, direct him to try.
