Summary

If an accused person admits to being guilty, the Magistrate must write down exactly what the accused said, using their own words as much as possible. After recording the plea, the Magistrate has the choice to convict the accused based on that admission.

Official Text

If the accused pleads guilty, the Magistrate shall record the plea as nearly as possible in the words used by the accused and may, in his discretion, convict him thereon.
