BNSS Section 456 — Commutation of sentence of death on pregnant woman

Summary

If a woman who has been given the death penalty is discovered to be pregnant, the High Court is required to change her punishment to life imprisonment instead.

If a woman sentenced to death is found to be pregnant, the High Court shall commute the sentence to imprisonment for life. B.—Imprisonment
