Summary
Police station in-charges must report to the District Magistrate (or, if the Magistrate directs, to the Sub-divisional Magistrate) about every person arrested without a warrant within their station's area. This report must be made whether or not the arrested person has been released on bail.
Official Text
Officers in charge of police stations shall report to the District Magistrate, or, if he so directs, to the Sub-divisional Magistrate, the cases of all persons arrested without warrant, within the limits of their respective stations, whether such persons have been admitted to bail or otherwise.
