Summary

If a decree is transferred to someone else, that person receives it with the same limitations or rights that the person who owes the money could have used against the original person who won the decree. This means the person who owes the money can still raise any fair claims or defenses against the new holder that they could have raised against the original winner.

Official Text

Every transferee of a decree shall hold the same subject to the equities (if any) which the judgment-debtor might have enforced against the original decree-holder.
