Summary

This section says that a court cannot hear a case if the amount of money or value of the property involved in the dispute is more than the maximum limit set for that court's ordinary authority. It applies only when no other specific law has clearly stated a different rule.

Save in so far as is otherwise expressly provided, nothing herein contained shall operate to give any Court jurisdiction over suits the amount or value of the subject-matter of which exceeds the pecuniary limits (if any) of its ordinary jurisdiction.
