CPC Section 77 — Letter of request

Summary

Instead of appointing a local commissioner, the court can send a formal letter of request to have a witness questioned who lives outside India. This letter asks the foreign authorities to help with the examination.

In lieu of issuing a commission the Court may issue a letter of request to examine a witness residing at any place not within India
