The registers, their indices, and copies of annual returns that are kept under sections 88 and 94 of the Act serve as prima facie evidence for anything that this Act requires or allows to be entered into them. This means that, in any legal proceeding, these documents are accepted as proof of the information they contain, unless and until the contrary is shown. In simple terms, if a fact is recorded in these registers or returns, the law treats that record as reliable evidence of the fact, but it is not conclusive and can be challenged or rebutted with other evidence.

The registers, their indices and copies of annual returns maintained under sections 88 and 94 shall be prima facie evidence of any matter directed or authorised to be inserted therein by or under this Act.
