To be eligible for appointment as Governor, a person must be a citizen of India and must have reached the age of thirty-five years. No one who does not meet both of these conditions can be appointed to the position.

No person shall be eligible for appointment as Governor unless he is a citizen of India and has completed the age of thirty-five years.
