Constitution Section 243O — Bar to interference by courts in electoral matters

Part IX — THE PANCHAYATS

Constitutional

Summary

Courts cannot hear challenges to laws that define Panchayat constituency boundaries or assign seats to those constituencies, even if those laws appear to be made under the relevant constitutional provision. Also, the only way to challenge a Panchayat election is by filing an election petition with the authority and in the manner specified by the state's own law.
