Trade, commerce, and the exchange of goods and services across all of India are generally allowed to happen without restrictions, as long as they follow any other rules mentioned in this part of the Constitution. This means that the basic right to freely carry on business and travel for trade purposes is protected, but it can be limited by other specific legal provisions.

Subject to the other provisions of this Part, trade, commerce and intercourse throughout the territory of India shall be free.
