Summary

The central government is responsible for protecting every state from attacks by outside forces and from serious unrest within the state. It must also make sure that each state’s government functions according to the rules set out in the Constitution.

It shall be the duty of the Union to protect every State against external aggression and internal disturbance and to ensure that the Government of every State is carried on in accordance with the provisions of this Constitution.
