Consumer Protection Act Section 69 — Limitation period
CHAPTER IV CONSUMER DISPUTER REDRESSAL COMMISSION
Civil
Summary
Sub-section (1) states that the District Commission, the State Commission, or the National Commission will not accept a complaint unless it is filed within two years from the date on which the cause of action has arisen.
Sub-section (2) states that, despite what is said in sub-section (1), a complaint may be accepted after the two-year period if the complainant convinces the relevant Commission that there was sufficient cause for not filing the complaint within that period. However, such a late complaint will only be accepted if the Commission records its reasons for condoning the delay.
