Hindu Marriage Act Section 4 — Overriding effect of Act
General
Summary
This law takes priority over older rules and customs of Hindu law, but only on topics that this Act itself covers. Any earlier Hindu law text, rule, custom, or usage that applied before this Act came into force stops having effect for those covered matters. Also, any other law that was in force before this Act will stop having effect if it conflicts with anything in this Act.
