Summary

If someone wants to present a piece of evidence in court, they must first prove any fact that is needed to make that evidence legally acceptable. The responsibility to prove that supporting fact lies with the person who wants to introduce the evidence.

The burden of proving any fact necessary to be proved in order to enable any person to give evidence of any other fact is on the person who wishes to give such evidence.
