Summary
The court has the power to allow the person who called a witness to ask that witness questions that would normally only be asked by the opposing side during cross-examination. Even if the court allows this, the person who called the witness can still use any part of that witness's testimony to support their case.

The Court may, in its discretion, permit the person who calls a witness to put any question to him which might be put in cross-examination by the adverse party
Nothing in this section shall dis entitle the person so permitted under subsection (1) to rely on any part of the evidence of such witness.
