IEA Section 72 — Proof of document not required by law to be attested

Summary

If a document does not legally need to be signed by a witness, but someone has signed it as a witness anyway, that document can be proved in court just as if it had no witness signature at all. This means the usual rules for proving a witnessed document do not apply to it.
