Summary

A person is considered to have abetted an offence if they help or encourage someone else to commit that offence. They also count as an abettor if they help or encourage an act that would be an offence if the person doing it were legally capable of committing that offence and had the same intention or knowledge as the person who helped or encouraged it.

Official Text

A person abets an offence, who abets either the commission of an offence, or the commission of an act which would be an offence, if committed by a person capable by law of committing an offence with the same intention or knowledge as that of the abettor.
