Summary

If a person knows or believes that a crime has happened, and they deliberately make any proof of that crime vanish in order to protect the person who did it from being punished, or if they give false information about the crime with that same intention, they are covered by this provision.

Official Text

Whoever, knowing or having reason to believe that an offence has been committed, causes any evidence of the commission of that offence to disappear, with the intention of screening the offender from legal punishment, or with that intention gives any information respecting the offence which he knows or believes to be false;
