Summary

Whoever removes any tool or instrument used for making coins from a mint that is legally set up in India, without having legal permission to do so, commits an offence. This offence can be punished with imprisonment for up to seven years, and a fine may also be imposed.

Whoever, without lawful authority, takes out of any mint, lawfully established in India, any coining tool or instrument, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to seven years, and shall also be liable to fine.
