Summary

If a person dies by suicide, anyone who intentionally helps, encourages, or instigates that suicide can be punished. The punishment can be imprisonment for up to ten years, along with a fine. The court can decide the type of imprisonment and the amount of fine.

Official Text

If any person commits suicide, whoever abets the commission of such suicide, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to ten years, and shall also be liable to fine.
