Summary
This section says that if a person causes serious injury to another person on purpose, and the situation is not covered by a different rule, they can be sent to prison for up to seven years. The court can also impose a fine in addition to the prison time.
Official Text
Whoever, except in the case provided for by section 335, voluntarily causes grievous hurt, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to seven years, and shall also be liable to fine.
