Summary
If a person commits theft, they can be punished by imprisonment for up to three years, or by a fine, or by both. The imprisonment can be either simple or rigorous.
Official Text
Whoever commits theft shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to three years, or with fine, or with both.
