Summary

If a person deliberately makes someone else afraid that they or another person will be harmed, and because of that fear, tricks or forces that person into giving away any property, a valuable security, or any signed or sealed document that could be turned into a valuable security, that act is called extortion.

Official Text

Whoever intentionally puts any person in fear of any injury to that person, or to any other, and thereby dishonestly induces the person so put in fear to deliver to any person any property, or valuable security or anything signed or sealed which may be converted into a valuable security, commits “extortion”.
