IPC Section 93 — Communication made in good faith

Summary

If you share information with someone honestly and with the intention of helping them, you are not committing an offence just because that information causes them some harm. This applies only when the communication is made in good faith and for that person's own benefit.

No communication made in good faith is an offence by reason of any harm to the person to whom it is made, if it is made for the benefit of that person.
