Information Technology Act Section 39 — Notice of suspension or revocation
CHAPTER VI REGULATION OF CERTIFYING AUTHORITIES
Cyber Law
Summary
Sub-section (1) states that when a Digital Signature Certificate is suspended or revoked under section 37 or section 38, the Certifying Authority must publish a notice about that suspension or revocation. This notice has to be placed in the repository that is listed in the Digital Signature Certificate itself for the purpose of publishing such notices.
Sub-section (2) covers the situation where more than one repository is specified in the Digital Signature Certificate. In that case, the Certifying Authority is required to publish the notice of suspension or revocation in all of those repositories, not just one.
