Summary

Sub-section (1) allows the State Government to create one or more schemes, announced through an official notification, to provide for the matters listed in its clauses.

Under clause (a) of sub-section (1), a scheme may provide for an in-depth study on the causes and analysis of motor vehicle accidents.

Under clause (b) of sub-section (1), a scheme may provide for wayside amenities on highways.

Under clause (c) of sub-section (1), a scheme may provide for traffic aid posts on highways.

Under clause (d) of sub-section (1), a scheme may provide for truck parking complexes along highways.

Under clause (e) of sub-section (1), a scheme may provide for any other amenities in the interests of the safety and the convenience of the public.

Sub-section (2) states that every scheme made by a State Government under this section must be laid before the State Legislature as soon as possible after it is made.

Sub-section (3) allows the Central Government to make one or more schemes, announced through an official notification, to conduct in-depth studies on the causes and analysis of road accidents.

(1) The State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, make one or more schemes to provide forβ€”

(a) an in depth study on causes and analysis of motor vehicle accidents;

(b) wayside amenities on highways;

(c) traffic aid posts on highways; 4***

(d) truck parking complexes along 5[highways; and]. 6[

(e) any other amenities in the interests of the safety and the convenience of the public.]

(2) Every scheme made under this section by any State Government shall be laid, as soon as may be after it is made, before the State Legislature. 1[

(3) The Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, make one or more schemes to conduct in-depth studies on the causes and analysis of road accidents.]
