CHAPTER IX MOTOR VEHICLES TEMPORARILY LEAVING OR VISITING INDIA

Summary

Sub-section (1) gives the State Government the power to create rules that help put the provisions of this Chapter into effect, except for the matters that are already covered under section 164C.

Sub-section (2) clarifies that, without limiting the general power in sub-section (1), such rules may specifically provide for the matters listed in clauses (a) and (b).

Under clause (a) of sub-section (2), the rules may specify the other authority referred to in sub-section (5) of section 147.

Under clause (b) of sub-section (2), the rules may cover any other matter that is required or allowed to be prescribed, or for which rules need to be made.

(1) The State Government may make rules for the purposes of carrying into effect, the provisions of this Chapter other than the matters specified in section 164C.

(2) Without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing power, such rules may provide forβ€”

(a) the other authority under sub-section (5) of section 147; and

(b) any other matter which is to be, or may be, prescribed, or in respect of which provision is to be made by rules.]
