Summary

Sub-section (1) states that a person who is under eighteen years of age cannot hold a conductor's licence, and such a licence will not be granted to them.

Sub-section (2) says the licensing authority has the power to refuse to issue a conductor's licence in three situations. Under clause (a), refusal is allowed if the applicant does not have the minimum educational qualification required. Under clause (b), refusal is allowed if the medical certificate the applicant provides shows that they are physically unfit to work as a conductor. Under clause (c), refusal is allowed if any conductor's licence the applicant previously held was revoked.

(1) No person under the age of eighteen years shall hold, or be granted, a conductor’s licence.

(2) The licensing authority may refuse to issue a conductor’s licence—

(a) if the applicant does not possess the minimum educational qualification;

(b) if the medical certificate produced by the applicant discloses that he is physically unfit to act as a conductor; and

(c) if any previous conductor’s licence held by the applicant was revoked.
