Summary
If a promissory note or bill of exchange says the amount in numbers and also in words, and the two do not match, the amount written in words is the one that counts as the official amount to be paid.
Official Text
If the amount undertaken or ordered to be paid is stated differently in figures and in words, the amount stated in words shall be the amount undertaken or ordered to be paid.
