Summary

If someone accepts or endorses a negotiable instrument, they are still legally responsible for that acceptance or endorsement, even if the instrument was changed or altered before they signed it. The law holds them to their own signature, regardless of any earlier changes made to the document.

An acceptor or indorser of a negotiable instrument is bound by his acceptance or indorsement notwithstanding any previous alteration of the instrument.
