Specific Relief Act Section 1 — Short title, extent and commencement

Summary

This law is officially named the Specific Relief Act, 1963. It applies across the entire country of India. The law takes effect on a date that the Central Government announces through an official government publication.

Official Text

(1) This Act may be called the Specific Relief Act, 1963.

(2) It extends to the whole of India 1[***].

(3) It shall come into force on such date2 as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
