Specific Relief Act Section 10 — Specific performance in respect of contracts

Summary

A court will enforce a contract by ordering the party who broke it to actually perform their side of the deal, rather than just pay money. However, this power is limited by the rules in certain other sections of the law, which set out when such an order cannot be given.

The specific performance of a contract shall be enforced by the court subject to the provisions contained in sub-section (2) of section 11, section 14 and section 16.]
