CHAPTER VIII PERPETUAL INJUNCTIONS

General

Summary

This section clarifies that the Act does not take away any other legal rights a person may have under a contract, apart from the right to ask for specific performance. It also confirms that the Act does not change how the Indian Registration Act, 1908 applies to documents. In short, this law only deals with specific performance and leaves other contract-related remedies and registration rules untouched.

Official Text

Except as otherwise provided herein, nothing in this Act shall be deemed—

(a) to deprive any person of any right to relief, other than specific performance, which he may have under any contract; or

(b) to affect the operation of the Indian Registration Act, 1908 (16 of 1908), on documents.
