Sub-section (1) states that, regardless of anything contained in any other law, a licence granted under the Tamil Nadu Distillery Rules, 1960, is cancelled.

Under clause (a) of sub-section (1), the cancellation applies notwithstanding anything contained in this Act or in any other law.

The Explanation clarifies that, for the purposes of item (ii) of this clause, the expression "stock of" refers to the stock of liquor held by the licensee.

Every person taking 22-A. Cancellation of licence granted under Tamil Nadu Distillery Rules, 1960.-- [22-C. Specification of route for transport of liquor.-- Notwithstanding anything [22-CC. Repeal of rules.--

(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in any [22-D. Licence granted for selling, by retail, Indian-made Foreigh Spirits to cease to be valid.--

(a) Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act or in any Explanation.-- For the purposes of item (ii) of this clause, the expression ―stock of
