Summary

Every official employed by the State Government or by any local body, other than a Police or Prohibition Officer, must immediately report to the nearest police station or to a Prohibition Officer any breach of this Act that comes to their knowledge. These officials are also required to take all reasonable measures within their power to prevent any such breach from being committed, if they know or have reason to believe that a breach is about to happen or is likely to happen.

Every official employed by the [State] Government or by any local body, other than a Police or prohibition Officer, shall be bound to give immediate information at the nearest police station or to a Prohibition Officer of all breaches of any of the provisions of this Act which may come to his knowledge; and all such officials shall be bound to take all reasonable measures in their power to prevent the commission of any such breaches which they may know or have reason to believe are about or likely to be committed.
