Transfer of Property Act Section 9 — Oral transfer

CHAPTER I PRELIMINARY

General

Summary

A transfer of property can be done orally, without any written document, whenever the law does not specifically require a written document for that type of transfer. In other words, if no law says a particular transfer must be in writing, speaking your intention to transfer is enough to make it valid.

Official Text

A transfer of property may be made without writing in every case in which a writing is not expressly required by law.
