Summary
Whoever, dishonestly or with a fraudulent intention, goes through a marriage ceremony while knowing that the ceremony does not actually make them lawfully married, commits an offence under this section. The punishment for this offence is imprisonment of either kind (simple or rigorous) for a term that may extend up to seven years, and the person shall also be liable to a fine.

Whoever, dishonestly or with a fraudulent intention, goes through the ceremony of being married, knowing that he is not thereby lawfully married, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to seven years, and shall also be liable to fine.
