BNSS Section 252 — Conviction on plea of guilty

Summary

If an accused person admits to being guilty, the judge must write down that admission. After recording the plea, the judge has the choice to convict the person based on that guilty plea.

Official Text

If the accused pleads guilty, the Judge shall record the plea and may, in his discretion, convict him thereon.
