Summary

A court can start the process of asking a court or authority in another country to help find, seize, and take ownership of property that belongs to a person who has been officially declared a proclaimed person. This can only happen if a senior police officer, at the level of Superintendent of Police or Commissioner of Police or higher, makes a written request to the court. The process must follow the rules set out in Chapter VIII of this Act.

The Court may, on the written request from a police officer not below the rank of the Superintendent of Police or Commissioner of Police, initiate the process of requesting assistance from a Court or an authority in the contracting State for identification, attachment and forfeiture of property belonging to a proclaimed person in accordance with the procedure provided in Chapter VIII.
