Consumer Protection Act Section 105 — Rules and regulations to be laid before each House of Parliament

CHAPTER VIII MISCELLANEOUS

Civil

Summary

Sub-section (1) states that every rule and regulation made under this Act must be placed before each House of Parliament as soon as possible after it is made, while Parliament is in session. It must remain before the Houses for a total period of thirty days, which can be spread across one session or multiple successive sessions. If, before the end of the session immediately following the session or sessions in which it was laid, both Houses agree to modify the rule or regulation, or agree that it should have effect only in the modified form or should have no effect at all, then that can happen. However, any such modification or annulment does not affect the validity of anything already done under that rule or regulation before the change.

Sub-section (2) states that every rule made by a State Government under this Act must be laid before the State Legislature as soon as possible after it is made.
