Consumer Protection Act Section 48 — Transfer of cases

Summary

The State Commission can move a complaint from one District Commission to another District Commission within the same State. This can happen either when the complainant asks for it, or on the State Commission's own initiative, and it can be done at any point during the proceedings. The transfer is allowed only if the interests of justice require it.

Official Text

On the application of the complainant or of its own motion, the State Commission may, at any stage of the proceeding, transfer any complaint pending before a District Commission to another District Commission within the State if the interest of justice so requires.
