Summary
A public officer cannot be forced to reveal information that was shared with them in confidence as part of their official duties, if the officer believes that making that information public would harm the public interest.
Official Text
No public officer shall be compelled to disclose communications made to him in official confidence, when he considers that the public interest would suffer by the disclosure.
