Summary
If the opinion of a living person is considered important in a legal matter, then the reasons or basis for that opinion are also considered important. This means that when someone's opinion is allowed as evidence, you can also look at why they hold that opinion.

Whenever the opinion of any living person is relevant, the grounds on which such opinion is based are also relevant.
