Summary

In civil cases, evidence about a person’s character is generally not allowed to suggest that they probably did or did not do something they are accused of. The only exception is if that person’s character is already shown by other facts that are relevant to the case.

In civil cases, the fad that the character of any person concerned is such as to render probable or improbable any conduct imputed to him, is irrelevant, except in so far as such character appears from facts otherwise relevant.
