If the words in a document are clear and match the actual facts of the situation, no one can bring in other evidence to argue that the document was not supposed to apply to those facts. This means the plain meaning of the document is taken as final when it fits the real-world circumstances.

When language used in a document is plain in itself, and when it applies accurately to existing facts, evidence may not be given to show that it was not meant to apply to such facts.
