Summary

People who are not parties to a written document, or their legal representatives, can provide evidence of any facts that show there was a separate agreement made at the same time that changed the terms of that document. This allows outsiders to the original document to testify about side agreements that altered its meaning.

Persons who are not parties to a document, or their representatives in interest, may give evidence of any facts tending to show a contemporaneous agreement varying the terms of the document.
